The Course

This course is designed to introduce you to the key skills in Access, whether you intend it as a stand alone qualification or as part of the MOS or ECDL.. It will be of practical benefit to anyone who has to use Access on a regular basis. 

Each lesson begins with a set of clearly stated objectives and an explaination of its place in the overall programme of study.  There are 22 lessons and 3 tutor-marked assignments.  In addition, there are numerous self-assessment tests and activities to measure your progress.  We also include a CD Rom in the course materials which contains suggested answers, dummy files and other resources.

The Syllabus

This course is Certified by Microsoft as part of the Microsoft Office Specialist qualification.  There are three other modules which complete MOS:

OR

This course can also be certified by ECDL as part of the European Computer Driving Licence qualification using syllabus Version 4.0.  There are six other modules comprising the ECDL:

Assessment

Examinations can be arranged through MOS or ECDL's websites.  They can be taken at any time of year by students sitting at a keyboard in a MOUS/ECDL registered centre.  Students are responsible for making their own examination entries.  The fee varies a little from one centre to another.

Duration

We recommend that each module should take about 50 hours of study over three months to complete.

Special Requirements.

No prior computer skills are needed but students must have access to a computer with Access 2000 or Office 2000 or XP.
